When the top ribbed cap is rotated, it drives the internal valve stem to actuate the sealing element (typically a rubber or PTFE disc). Rotating the cap clockwise forces the disc against the valve seat, blocking water flow through the angled passage; counterclockwise rotation lifts the disc, opening the passage to allow water circulation. This linear-actuation mechanism achieves both flow modulation and positive shut-off, maintaining system pressure stability during operation.
