PPR OR PETR Hot-melt Union Ball Valve
Basic Structure and Design
Materials and Construction
1.Valve Body and Trim: Typically, a copper alloy trim (such as brass) is used for the valve core, ensuring wear resistance and sealing performance, while the valve body is made of PPR (polypropylene random copolymer). The copper core guarantees durability and tight sealing, whereas the PPR material offers excellent corrosion resistance and is suitable for hot-melt welding connections.
2.Union Design: Removable union flanges (made of PPR) are installed on both sides, connected to the pipeline via hot-melt welding. A threaded or snap-lock nut is positioned in the middle, facilitating easy maintenance and replacement in the future.
3.Reinforced Structure: Some high-end models incorporate an S2.5 pressure rating design and anti-slip reinforcing ribs to enhance pressure resistance and installation stability.

Connection Methods
1.Hot-Melt Welding Connection: The PPR pipe and union flange are heated using a hot-melt welder, fused together rapidly upon cooling to form a seamless and leak-proof seal. This method is ideal for plastic piping systems such as PPR/PB.
2.Union-Style Installation: The valve can be disassembled without cutting the pipeline, making it particularly suitable for concealed piping installations or scenarios with limited space.
Core Functions and Performance Parameters
1.Functional Characteristics
Media Control: Used for the on/off and flow direction control of fluids such as water, oil, and gas, with minimal fluid resistance in the fully open/closed state.
Pressure and Temperature Resistance: The operating pressure typically 1.6 MPa, and the temperature range is from 5°C to 90°C, meeting the requirements of household and industrial low-pressure systems.
Sealing Performance: The copper core and PPR valve seat are precisely ground, combined with an O-ring seal, ensuring long-term leak prevention.
2.Operational Convenience
Handle Indication: When the handle is parallel to the valve body, it indicates an open state; when perpendicular, it indicates a closed state, providing intuitive operation.
Simplified Maintenance: The union design allows for the replacement of only the valve trim or the entire valve without damaging the pipeline.

Common Issues and Solutions
1.Valve Leakage
Cause: Aging of the sealing ring or loose threading.
Solution: Replace the O-ring or redo the hot-melt connection.
2.Stiff Handle Operation
Cause: Corrosion of the valve stem or blockage by impurities.
Solution: Lubricate the valve stem threading or clean the valve cavity.
